Erykah Badu – “Master Teacher” 2008

Bygbaby.com MindspillAfter work today, I made a b-line to Circuit City to pick up Erykah Badu’s new CD “New Ameryka: Part One (4th World War)”. Once I was up in that bitch, I made my purchase, bounced back to the car & unwrapped the CD like an excited kid on Christmas day then popped the disc in.

Now the CD is playing & I was like, oh no! I hate the first song but I listened to it anyway. After that disappointment, the CD recovered by giving me 11 more songs that I liked.

“New Amerykah” is much different then its predecessor “World Wide Underground”, which was more hard hitting, in your face & edgy. Erykah’s latest offering is mellow, slightly trippy & proves that homegirl can move throughout the R&B & Hip-Hop genres blazing new trails while others continue to put out bullshit like several studio artist who will not be named because I am sick of them.

Anyway………. It took Erykah almost 5 damn years to come back & I must say it was worth the wait, point blank! Now I just can’t wait to listen to it tomorrow night as I enjoy a few cocktails to relax my mind.

My standout favorites are (RealPlayer needed to listen to samples):

Wait! I also LOVED the art in the CD jacket, which to me was like an added bonus, so I am happy that I did not settle with the iTunes “clean” version offering. There are just some artists who I need to have their physical CD in my collection.

Did you cop it yet or is you???

BTW: Another disc will be dropping this summer (YES) called “New Amerykah: Part 2 (Return of the Ankh)”

In other good news my new Tizieu French Series Dunny arrived today!!!
